Services for Veterans and Military-Affiliated Students

  • Grant Opportunities for Students:  The grant-funded program Blurred Boundaries: The Experience of War and Its Aftermath is seeking student veterans to facilitate veteran discussion groups organized around films and novels.  Stipends will be awarded to up to 6 discussion facilitators, and training will be provided.  Emails detailing the program will be sent to campus student veterans in early May.  Please send inquiries and interest emails to blurredboundaries@appstate.edu.Military cookout at Duck Pond Field
  • Veteran and Military Orientation: targeted orientation and advising sessions for veterans and military-affiliated students.
  • Transfer Credit: 2 hours of General Education Wellness Literacy credit and up to six hours of military science credit to veterans and service- members. Transfer credit may also awarded for certain college and military courses. (Transfer Equivalency Course Search)
  • Student Veteran Services Coordinator
  • Priority Registration: Appalachian recognizes the many competing priorities Student Veterans have. Ask your advisor about Priority Registration for Military Students to enroll early and get your ideal class schedule.
